Steven Fonyo Tree

In Brocville in the midst of Armagh Sifton Park between Ferry Street and Block House Island Road stands a tree dedicated to Steven Fonyo.

Steve Fonyo, born June 29, 1965, lost his left leg to cancer at age 12. On March 31, 1984, at age 18, he began his run across Canada in Terry Fox's footstep and shadow. He called his run to raise money for cancer research, 'Journey for Lives'. He completed it on May 29, 1985, having covered 7,924 km and raising $14 million.
